Superintendent H.T. Sánchez will present his Five-Year Strategic Plan for the district at a Governing Board meeting to be held at TEP's Conference Center, the site where the work began five months ago.

The meeting is scheduled for July 22 at 6 p.m. at Tucson Electric Power's downtown headquarters, 88 E. Broadway Blvd.
The strategic plan contains annual goals in five key areas: Curriculum, diversity, finance, operations and communication.  In all, the proposal includes 125 specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound goals. We will be tweeting from the meeting, and the meeting will be live audio-streamed and video-streamed.

Dr. Sánchez said the plan will guide the district's work in all areas over the next five years. "This is the roadmap for a better TUSD," he said.

About 400 community members, business leaders, TUSD staff, teachers and students contributed more than 48 hours to the plan's creation. The work started with a community meeting where 200 attendees shared their thoughts in the five focus areas. That input, along with contributions from public on the TUSD website, was collected and turned over to subcommittees that met over several Saturdays to refine ideas and create the goals that will be presented at the meeting.

TUSD's Food Services department will provide light refreshments at the meeting. No outside food or drinks or backpacks will be allowed.
